NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Helga Township Planning and Zoning Commission will be holding its regular monthly meeting at 7pm, on the 1^st Wednesday of the month, at the Helga Town Hall.  In addition to the regular monthly meetings they will be holding the following special meetings to allow time to work on changes to the current Land Use Ordinance: August 18^th, September 15^th, and October 20^th, 2010.
Town board members may be in attendance at the Planning & Zoning Commission Meetings which may constitute a quorum.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Helga Township Board of Supervisors has a vacancy of 1 Supervisor position and will consider filling the vacancy at its regular town board meeting August 24^th, 2010 at 7pm at the Helga Town Hall.  Interested candidates should send a letter of interest and qualifications to Clerk at Helga Township, 215 Paul Bunyan Dr. NW #162, Bemidji MN 56601 or clerk@helgatownship.com.  Letters should be postmarked no later than August 17^th

Ordinance Authorizing a Study of

Commercial Uses and Imposing a Moratorium

Ordinance No. O-2010-5-2

The Town Board of Helga Township, Hubbard County adopted Ordinance No. O-2010-5-2, an interim ordinance placing a moratorium on the establishment, creation, or expansion of commercial uses. The interim ordinance will allow the Town an opportunity to conduct a study on the regulations associated with commercial uses, the areas of the Town in which commercial uses are appropriately allowed, and on the need for further amendments within its Land Use Ordinance. The moratorium will be in effect for 8 months from its effective date, unless a revised Land Use Ordinance is adopted earlier or the interim ordinance is otherwise repealed earlier .
